As many of you know, I work in IT. And while I work primarily with databases, I used to be a Network Admin in a former life so I still like to dabble in wired and wireless networking. This means I tend to over-engineer things. For instance, in our old sticks-and-bricks house, I had a 24-port gigabit switch, Cat-6 wired in to many rooms in the house, three wired-in wireless access points (no bridging here!), a professional router, full battery backup, etc. I could pick up our wireless network eight to ten houses down the block and signal strength never dipped below 'four bars' anywhere on our lot. We downsized from a typical suburban home to an RV and hit the road to experience North America as a family. From idea to launch in 10 weeks we downsized from 3700 square feet to about 370. We plan to travel for at least a year and see what this adventure brings us! We're glad to have you along for the virtual ride.
